Presents for kids in hospital over Christmas
Christmas came early in Allington with St John the Baptist church open between 3-5pm on Saturday, 17th December. The Ladies of the Village Community Partnership had given the church an early spring clean and fully decorated the church with a spectacular Christmas tree and floral decorations. Residents and their children were invited to visit the church and leave a Christmas present under the tree for the children that were in Salisbury hospital during the festive season. Over 64 presents have now been delivered to the hospital.
Just outside the church door, the Community Partnership hosted a ‘thank you’ to visitors with mulled wine and mince pies. It was a fun occasion and a chance for residents to meet up and wish each other a Happy Christmas – many thanks to all those that attended and made donations to Friends of Friendless Churches who now maintain our church.
